In the faded pages of a high school yearbook, a youthful prophecy, etched beneath the portrait of Elizabeth Grace, declared her future: “Come visit me in Boston, I’ll be doing my Masters in Music!!” This nascent aspiration, a shimmering vision conjured up by a seventeen-year-old from the tranquil Australian town of Adelaide, spoke of a world unburdened by constraints, a realm where artistic dreams could unfold without limitation.
That youthful aspiration has since unfurled into a remarkable reality. Elizabeth Grace has traversed the globe, her voice and piano resonating in the presence of musical giants in over 40 countries.
A full Presidential Scholarship at the New England Conservatory led to a doctorate, a testament to her deep commitment to her craft. Her journey has included residencies and performances in some of America’s most celebrated venues, her story chronicled in the pages of the Boston Globe, The Voyager, The Huffington Post and many European outlets.
Now, she’s found a home in the vibrant heart of New York City, on the Upper East Side.
Her presence on the international stage is undeniable. Victories like the Voicingers Competition in Poland (2009), finalist placement at the Montreux Jazz Competition (2011), and a third-place win at Australia’s national jazz voice awards in Wangaratta (2012) speak to her exceptional talent. She’s not just performed for luminaries like Quincy Jones and Jacob Collier; she’s shared artistic space with them, alongside the likes of Ben Monder, Miguel Zenon, and Luciana Souza, forging connections that enrich her own musical narrative. Beyond performance, she’s dedicated herself to nurturing the next generation of musicians, serving on the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Berklee College of Music (2018). In 2020, she embarked on a deeply personal project: recording her original music, set for release in 2025.
This album, featuring an extraordinary ensemble—Kendrick Scott (drums), Nir Felder (guitar), Matt Penman (bass), Chase Baird (Ewi) and Matthew Sheens (piano/arranging) and the esteemed Escher String Quartet—promises to be a profound expression of her artistic vision, a culmination of her journey from a small-town dream to a world-renowned presence.
